Global SAP Consolidation Strategy Enables 30-40% Faster Blueprinting and Onboarding
Client Profile
The client is a global leader in audience measurement, market research, and media analytics, with operations in more than 100 countries. Its Rest of the World (RoW) business ran on a single SAP ECC instance supporting 48 countries, while the U.S. had already transitioned to SAP S/4HANA.
With SAP ECC support ending on December 31, 2027, the organization needed a future-state architecture for RoW that would reduce cost, support global standardization, and improve long-term scalability. A5E Consulting was engaged to assess the available options and recommend the most practical path forward.
The Challenge
Aging ECC landscape
The RoW SAP environment had been in place since 2008. Although it had previously consolidated multiple regional systems, over time it became harder to support and less aligned with evolving business requirements. Several processes still depended on traditional ECC workflows, limiting the organization’s ability to support newer models such as subscription-based services and advanced analytics.
The landscape also relied on legacy integrations, including Hyperion, which increased technical debt and made the architecture more difficult to maintain.
